A day in my life(autumn)

Hi, so this is on a random Wednesday which is when I usually have class.

I wake up around 8 am usually, then I turn over and go on my phone for another hour since I make my room freezing cold when I sleep. My curtains aren’t the greatest so the light shines in always, my favorite type of days are rainy days.

When I finally get out of my futon I normally fold up my blankets and bed, if I’m lazy I don’t do any of that. For those wondering I usually change our of my sleep t-shirt then into sweatpants and a sweater for my daily wear since I don’t usually go outside. Unless it’s to workout, go on a date, or getting groceries. I open my door, then my kittens greet me with what I guess as aggressive meows for food. They prefer wet food but one of them overeats so I’m trying to put it in a higher space ( a friend told me to do this and so far so good). After that I grab my step ladder to grab a packet of oatmeal, then put my kettle on for some tea. Meanwhile all that’s cooking I go into the bathroom and do all of my morning routine list.

By this time it’s already 10am, so I sit at my desk to eat and get everything pulled up and watch YouTube while I munch and sip on breakfast. My class is from 1110am to 1220pm, normally I make another cup of tea and pour myself a cup of juice before class so I don’t have to get up.

After class I make a small lunch and wait a bit before I go to workout. (I could make a whole other post on this if anyone’s curious so please let me know). Then I take my preworkout, change, get my bag together, put on my cute mask, and head down to the lobby to workout. The gym is small but it’s safe to workout in and it’s just what I’m comfortable with until I feel confident enough to go back to what I was lifting before Covid. Usually my workouts last anywhere between a half hour and a little over an hour. When I’m back up to my space, I refill my cats water and replenish their food a little bit. I give them some pets then shower and make my protein shake an BCAA’s.

Now onto working on homework, normally it’s a lot of reading and planning for the next couple of days. Whether that’s for my student org on campus or for myself and homework. My course load isn’t huge so I’m not stressed out usually. I try to squeeze in anytime to working on the blog where I can.

By this time it’s 6pm so I walk over to my fridge to see what I have and choose Ravioli. It doesn’t take too long like four minutes tops, pour some red sauce over it and bam, dinner, sometimes I’ll add garlic bread if I feel up for it. Also around this time I’m finishing up homework and relaxing till around 9pm.

I’m usually in bed around 930, I go on my phone for an hour, talk to my partner, then I eventually fall asleep.

So there you have it! A normal day in life for someone who lives alone with two new kittens and a college student. As always I hope the rest of your day is great and I will see you next time!

Self Care Sunday

Hi!

So this Sunday, and my period so happens to be around the corner. And the topic I’m gonna talk to you about today is eating junk foods. I don’t know if I’ve done a list but here are my top three

1) kettle cooked potato chips

2) Dill Pickle chips (old Dutch kind)

3) Chewy chocolate chips ahoy cookies

So what the point of this list? Firstly, it’s to see if we have anything in common snack wise. Second, this is just my small way of saying that letting your body crave what you eat is totally ok and is a small act of self care. My mom used to tell me when I lived at home that it my body was telling me what I needed. Also to take in moderation, that being said I don’t feel terrible if I eat half the bag of potato chips while I binge watch a documentary on Ted Bundy. It’s knowing your body and what type of fuel you need. But I’m pretty sure majority of people reading this already.

Favorite fall drinks

Hi, heres a cute list of some of my favorite warm fall beverages!

  • Apple Cider (duh, but honestly this sweetness while working and looking outside is very relaxing to me)
  • Vanilla chai black tea (my favorite morning tea now thanks to my best friend)
  • Hot chocolate ( I know this is a winter drink but for freezing cold mornings)
  • Chia tea (need I say more, no because this taste wonderful)

Self care Sunday

So this Sunday’s topic is drinking a warm beverage and listening to a chill playlist. If you’ve watched any of my YouTube videos I usually do have a warm tea or drink while I work, mainly to help me hydrated but also there’s just something about having a warm drink that’s comforting. Normally I don’t listen to music but say when I’m working on my blog or painting it’s also comforting.

They help me with self care because they’re things I’ve done for a while now but just morphed into their respective areas in my life. I know it doesn’t seem like a lot but having those have helped me get back on track many times. I really enjoy both of them to, they help me expand my pallet of both teas and music. Though arguably I haven’t been as of recently….

New apartment

Hi, it’s been a long time hasn’t it?

Sorry but I got through another year of college, but oh yes there are summer terms…. And I just moved into my new apartment, it was a week as of yesterday! (but as of writing this I’ve been settled in for 5 months)

The current space that I’m in is a one bed, and one bath. It’s pretty big considering all I have to gauge off of is living in dorms. I’ve had my own bed for the past 3 years now and shortly after this I will be writing about that so keep an eye out!

So it’s not aesthetic yet for fall but I am getting there, I’ve gotten a couple of things but I’m more excited about decorating it for winter! I still have to get a full length mirror so I can keep doing outfit blogs instead of finding random mirrors whenever I go out.

In all honesty, I enjoy my space, it’s nice to know I have a cozy corner room that’s all my own, I have a color pallet in here that compliments any color scheme I have going forward that can be rearranged and what not. It’s mainly pinks and grays which has always been my favorite color scheme because it’s both femme and semi professional.

Self Care Sunday

Hi, so this Sunday I want to talk about doing makeup.

I don’t know if I’ve talked about it or not but if I have I’m doing it again. As of late I’ve been into no makeup makeup looks. For a base I use glossier then I mainly do light blush, highlighter and eye-shadow. Normally I like to jam out to my current album thank you, next by Arianna Grande. There’s just something about the music in my tiny bathroom that’s fun to me. I have all my makeup sprawled everywhere only to either be left while I leave on my outing or neatly put away after use. I feel like I’m just in this really long 10 minuet routine of doing my makeup. I don’t know do you feel the same way?

Owning a Japanese Futon

As I said last week I have had my own bed for about three years now, and by the title it’s pretty self explanatory. I did a bunch of research on it for a little bit before I actually bit the bullet an bought this. I watched a bunch of videos on what your supposed to do to take care of it, how it’s made, how the cloth for the sheet is made. I also read up on what I can do as a young women living in the city where a balcony cost extra what else my options are. It’s a Japanese full size so it’s enough for me and one other person to sleep in comfortably that I got from J-life international. I also got a floor pillow as well which I use as throw pillows when I don’t have guest over who like to sit on the floor. I do not have tatami but I’m thinking about getting it in the future, maybe not this year but soon(ish). I did however order a wooden accordion style for under the bed but that won’t be here until October-November from japan. As for right now I have a friend who gave me some memory foam mats that she used for her old dorm back when I first got the bed but now she’s living at home. And my partner can tell a difference but I can’t so yeah there’s that…

Owning this futon was a struggle at first because of living in the dorm and not having enough window space for it to actually air out. Or there was also not having anything to prop it up on so i could actually get underneath. I bought a small bed vacuum that works wonders though, it helps get all the dead skin and moisture out of the bed. With owning this bed I have noticed my posture getting better or how my spine feels when I’m sitting in my chair, its very noticable in comparison to when I didn’t have this bed. It’s also pretty easy to fold up for me in the morning and it helps me get out of bed. I just fold it into an accordion and bam then I fold up my blankets then I have a lot more space in my one bedroom!

I wouldn’t say go out and buy one right now because I can’t force you too. I wont either, it should be your decision and this is only my experience. But if your on the fence about it do more reading on it like I did because it is an investment. Anyways I hope you have a great rest of your day and I will see you all next time!!

Self care Sunday

So it’s been a while since I did this, I have actually been working on this since I stopped I just haven’t been posting it really.. Right now though as I’m typing this up on a sunny Saturday the one thing I like to do is watercolor paint. Yes you heard right Paint, and as of typing this out I’m planning on sketching out something from howls moving castle. I’m going to do some reading today to get ahead for one of my classes.

For me there’s just something about how I can take the time for it to be nice just helps me take that thing slow. It’s also nice to know that if I dont want to show anyone I can do that as well. I’ve been enjoying painting because it’s a different medium than I’m used to, I have never really seriously dove into this type of paint before.
